Solution Architect
Worked on implementing i2's Supply Relationship Mangement (SRM) product at various fortune 500 clients.
Product Sourcing implemtation at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, USA (2005) - This project aims at providing a single place for a design engineer to look for parts for his engineering design and then do an analysis at the BOM. It also had functionality of submitting a New Part Request (if he does not find the required part) that triggers a workflow for approval and a Change Part Request (if he wants any changes to the part specification).
I was involved in requirements gathering, map the product features with client requirements, developing use case diagrams, detailed design, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and get the approval from the customer for implementation. Also wrote integration specs for integraing this product with legacy systems like SAP , PDM and DIACS
Product Sourcing implementation at Samsung, Korea (2004)- This project aimed at building a system to perform Life Cycle Analysis and Cost Analysis on Engineering BOM’s and also to assign preference to internal parts. These preferences were defined based on some complex business rules and were used in Product design process to make the final.
My role in this project was to do the solution architecture for preference score generation tool, architect the integration framework of i2 product with 8 different external systems and lead a team of 4 in implementing the same integration.
Strategic Sourcing Projects - Honda of America, USA (2002-2003) This project was to build a consolidated MRO catalog for North American operation of Honda. This catalog will help Honda to realize savings by supplier consolidation, elimination of parts duplication and strategic management of contracts. Savvion system was used to develop workflows for introduction and maintenance of MRO parts into the catalog. HONDA realized at least 40% fo reduction in its operation costs.
My role in this project was to architect for JMS based integration framework for integration SRM with external systems (Ariba and PeopleSoft) and also lead the integration implementation team.Implemented the i2’s Discovery Knowledge Manager that is being used as a search engine by Honda for creating a new Purchase Requisition.Implemented i2’s Product Sourcing that is being used as a workflow system for introduction of a part in the i2’s catalog and this involved implementing 10 new workflows.
GES Singapore (January 2004 till May 2004) -This project aimed at providing a centralized catalog across three GES plants and hence enabling them in finding strategic alliances with Suppliers for procurement of parts. I2 SRM provided functionalities like Data normalization, classification and cross referencing of their components and suppliers, visibility to Global spend analysis and aggregation of procurement across three locations Singapore, Malaysia and Shanghai.
Transora (March 2001 to October 2001) - Transora is a consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry’s business-to-business exchange established by members of the Grocery Manufacturers of America and its investors include more than 50 world’s largest CPG manufacturers representing $650 billion in annual revenues. Transora specializes in data synchronization and collaborative commerce technologies and it aimed at reducing costs and streamline trading relationships among manufacturers, suppliers and retailers.
Shell Equiva (November 2001 to April 2003) - Equiva is a supplier centric, supplier managed catalog leveraging to the i2 DKM/ Content Exchange capabilities. Content for Equiva was pulled out from external systems like Trade Ranger into Alliance’s enterprise catalog and this catalog is a record of all Materials, direct items and indirect MRO items. The system was rolled out to 6 plants of Equiva over North America and this it got the advantage of single catalog across different plants and also avoided mastering MRO parts in the SAP ERP system.
